Nessun Dorma

I was really moved by watching Pavarotti sing Nessun Dorma this evening. That lad could sing. I wanted to know what Nessun Dorma was actually about. So I looked it up. And this is the answer. I really enjoyed reading about it. Do it whilst listening to it. If you don't have it, I will send you the MP3 version if you like.

He once said that "God had kissed his voice." Think that pretty much sums it up.

I read somewhere that the meaning of life is "to find your talent and share it with the world". That he certainly did and, fortunately, his gift will live on in his recordings.

I saw him once when I was a kid. He was here at the Hollywood Bowl, an outdoor venue carved into the Hollywood Hills. We were sitting so far back and up, he looked like a little, rotund Yamagata figure on stage... but... his voice... his voice filled the bowl, the hills, our ears, and our hearts.

Thanks for posting the explination; it does make the english translation more meaningful. I have a couple of his albums and Nessum Dorma is on one but wouldn't mind hearing the version you have, too. Z
